I bought this for my grandkids to use while visiting. They most definitely prefer it to a high chair as they can be right up to the counter with everyone else. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you have a tall child (as one of mine is), the stool is then impractical as they tower over the counter.

Absolutely love this. Very strudy, perfect size for my 3 year old. Although i read the reviews about it being fiddly to put together so made sure I had someone to help and it probably took us both about 10 mins to construct. Highly recommend still though

We own a gray one and a natural wood one. The Grey one (which is actually more of a gray blue) was super easy to put together and works just great! Our natural color one seems a little less sturdy-theyre the same product, same price, but different materials and different stability. This one also has a defective bar piece on the front of the top part. One of the holes works fine, but the other side doesn't allow you to screw it in.

This product is amazing. I loved it. It took me maybe 10 minutes to set up and follow the directions. Would say that the bottom ladder become loose sometimes And would have to tighten it back up, but overall very product very easy to slide around and have nearby

Sturdy. Best to have 2 people for assembly. I might end up removing the back support pole as it makes getting in and out tricky for my 2.5 year old granddaughter.

Not exactly where I wanted to start the review, but I want to be sure not to forget mentioning... the versatility of this stool. Once my child is past the need for the wonderful guard rails, they can be removed. It can then still be used as a stool... without the excess space consumption, a stool that even smaller adults can use, but also... I am totally looking forward to using this as a student type of school desk for my child. My toddler is already able to sit on the bottom step and use the top step as a desk. It's the perfect size! Great versatility!! I LOVE this step stool! For the original characteristics of this stepstool. First off, it's huge. Keep that in mind. This is not for those needing to save on space. Once it's put together, that's it. One thing I wish is that it could fold down, but this version (kitchen stool helper) does not. It does take up quite a bit of space. Luckily, I have the space. My daughter is such the little 'helper'. I mean she wants to take part in and help with everything, especially dinner... and anywhere else she can't naturally reach. This stool gets her right up to, almost my height, and the perfect height to stand at the counter and help me. I must add how Absolutely excited she was to help me put this piece together, but most definitely was she overally excited once it was done. Soon as Daddy pulled up after work she was ready to show him her new big girl step stool! This stool is so sturdy and SAFE! There are no concerns for safety. Once she's up, she's up, and with the safety bar (optional really) she actually has to sit down and scoot under the bar to get off. Although that feels like an unnecessary extra step, it ensures they're not falling backwards, or from the front trying to step down. It really is optional and you don't have to add on that bar. I chose not to as my 2, almost 3 year old is quite comfortable with steps. Plus this thing is so big and sturdy... I just don't feel concerned. That's a choice to make with your child's experience in mind. It's kinda like a step up thing, as they grow. The wood is absolutely beautiful! I'm a big wood person. I enjoy a nice cut, nicely finished piece of wood, and boy let me tell you... it's something I would keep around just for the beauty of it. Paired with some heavy duty screws and bolts, this thing was designed... amazingly crafted... and built to last a lifetime! The wood is so smooth, it feels good and provides a great, smooth texture for children. No splintering. No rough edges. Plus it's very easy to clean with a damp cloth. The design is very esthetically pleasing. Even with its bulkiness I LOVE seeing this piece in my kitchen. Okay... another note. My toddler IS able to push this thing around. So keep that in mind. Another reason I wish it could fold up, with some kind of locking mechanism. Now my child can slide this thing up to anywhere and reach things she previously couldn't. She'll be 3 in April. So take that into consideration. A younger toddler may not be capable of this. *there may also be an option to strap this thing into one position somewhere. I may DIY some type of way to keep it positioned at certain specific points in the house. Definitely something to consider. Or something the manufacturer could consider adding to this beautiful piece. Overall, and with all considerations, this is a great step stool, that will probably outlive me. It's multifunctional and although it states 150lb max it surely exceeds that! It's beautiful, and can be customized for future growth and different use. Absolutely worth its price, and then some in my opinion. I 100% recommend this step stool!
