The Engelhart - 350100- Wooden Double Tangram is a beautifully made game that is a fun challenge for children or adults. The set includes two sets of wooden pieces that when put together make a square. These can be shared between two people to enable each person to attempt to be the quickest person to make the tangram on their card. I love the simplicity of this game and it's lot of fun to play even with an age difference in players. The game is entirely wooden (aside from the card cards) which gives the game a classic feel and it's nice to not have something plastic for a change too. It is a bit of a nuisance to get the game out of the box initially but since putting the pieces in the correct side I've had no problems (other than trying to remember how they form a square in the first place!) so maybe they just got unsettled during delivery of the product. I am so pleased with this game and think it is a great way to get brains working and trying to figure out one of the many tangrams included, a challenge but lots of fun.

A classical puzzle beautifully executed in natural eco acacia wood sourced from environmentally-friendly plantations. The aim of this Tangram game is to reproduce shapes from the included cards using the wooden pieces as quickly as possible. There are two identical sets of shapes so 2 players can compete with each other, or you can enjoy it alone. In case you don't know, the shape of the Tangram pieces or tiles are a universal standard so there are many other shape puzzles you can find online to solve. There are 49 cards with the shape you need to reproduce shown in white on the blue side of the card. The opposite (white) side of the card reveals the solution by showing the individual pieces in blue. By placing the deck of cards with the blue side upwards, you compete to reproduce the shape shown on the top of the pile using the wooden pieces. Upon successful completion the dealer removes the top card to reveal the next puzzle, and so on. If the player or players are unable to solve the puzzle, the dealer can flip the top card to reveal the solution. The game is simple but fun, great for developing puzzle thinking and motor skills, and is recommended for ages 4 and above. The playing pieces are nicely finished in natural acacia wood, as is the box which is well made, glued together and even features wooden dowel hinges and separate compartments for the cards and pieces. Not a nail or metal fixture in sight! Size of the box when closed is 19 cm wide, 12.2cm deep and 3.8cm high. The Tangram squares when assembled are 9.2cm by 9.2cm and the pieces are 12mm thick. The 49 cards comprise 4 categories: Animals (14), Shapes (12), Zodiac (10) and Double Tangram (13). The category and sequential numbers are printed on both sides of each card. The only small issue I experienced was when first attempting to open the case, the top was jammed from hinging all the way by the wooden pieces. I managed though to remove a few pieces through the gap and then it opened fine. Also to remove the cards and pieces you need to tip the box over as there is no space to get your fingers around them. The instructions on the top card also refer to the red side of the cards, so I assume at some point they changed colour from red to blue.

Nice quality wooden toy that fits nicely in a purpose made wooden box. Good quality with nice quality cards showing the shapes to make. Nice to have to wheel out for whoever (of whatever age) wants to spend a little time, kids, adluts or even as a drinking game against the clock.

The puzzle comes in a wooden box and the pieces are also made of wood. My son was really looking forward to receiving this game as he loves brain teasers. He likes the grippy, lightweight wood and the challenge. The workmanship is good for the price, and the box is small, light and handy enough to travel with you. All in all, a good investment against boredom. Hope you find this review helpful.

This is a very well made puzzle game. The construction of the carry box is excellent and so are the pieces. Can be played solo or with others there are a good selection of puzzles to ponder over and work out the solutions to. I can reality recommend this an for the price is good value for the product you get.

Why have I never seen this game before... Such a joy to have a touchy-feely old fashioned parlour game, and, something that isn't plastic!! Yay. So simple, yet a lovely brain-teaser. Wonderful gift for any age. Put down your smart phones and have a game of Tangram for a half hour or so. I will be gifting a few of these at Christmas…

The object of the game is to make up the puzzle shown on the cards. There are 2 sides to the card one more difficult than the other. This will be a brilliant game to play with the grandchildren and would make great Christmas game.

Classic tangrams but a stylish wooden set that won't get scattered. It would make a nice gift too. There are a bunch of included tangram challenges to solve and then you can freestyle or find more challenges online. There is not currently a price for this item, so can't comment on value.
