I like the feel of these tools. My toddler has so far just used the scoops for sensory play, but they fit well in his hand. The wood is smooth and doesn't feel like it will cause splinters. The watering can is a good size and pours well. Eventually my toddler will just tip the water out the top, but I can pour it even when full and not have water pour out the top as long as I'm at a steady angle. My only complaint is I can't seem to separate the two garden markers. They seem glued together and won't come apart even with tugging. Considering the other tools are so nice, I'd still choose this product.

All the pieces in this set are high quality. The metal is smooth, painted and sturdy. The wooden parts are solid and sanded. It's a great set for children who want their own garden tools. It's a great set for the price. Children have increased self esteem when they are charged with caring for something. Plants are a good start.

Little kids are supposed to get dirty - they’re supposed to dig in the dirt, learn and have fun. And this gardening set helps them do just that with three little tools designed perfectly to fit little hands for digging and a watering can (and two little markers for their “garden” plot). Whether actually helping an adult grow something or just playing in the dirt, this is an awesome set with everything a starting gardener could want. The tools are all very well-designed and the build quality is excellent - the tools DO work like you would expect the adult versions to (and so especially the little rake PROBABLY should be used with adult supervision though it’s not really that sharp). I would expect nothing else from a company like Hape who has been making quality children’s toys for generations (little trains and wooden sets mostly, so they know how to build durable toys that kids love). These tools are made with real wood and real metal and should last through many many play sessions, likely even to be handed down to the next younger sibling/cousin/friend. On top of all that, the set is super cute and would make a great spring/summer gift for either a little boy or girl (the right age is probably 4ish though it might be appropriate for some younger kids or some not until they’re older as each child develops differently). So if you’re looking to help a little one develop and get a bit dirty while doing it, this is a great option to consider. Give it a try today!

Such a cute gardening set for kiddos! Good quality and sturdy tools. I'm impressed with the quality and also just how closely it matches the "real" thing so your kiddo will get to really be part of the garden fun. Photo shows size in reference to an adult hand. It's not tiny but the perfect size for younger kids. Pair this with some fun seeds and this would make an awesome gift for little ones who want to help out in the garden!

my youngest likes to imitate us int he garden, so we got her this little set to help out with. She likes to dig holes with it in my yard. Not my initial thought as to what was going to happen, but thinking back on it, I should of expected this. Anyway! The tools actually work pretty well for kids and in a sand box they do real good.
